Bark Avenue Gallop n GlitzDowntown Grants Pass seems to be alive with a lot of new, unique stores, and Ann & Shan’s Bark Avenue/Gallop ‘n Glitz (224 SW 6th Street) is a perfect example. Ann Jackson and Shannon Holder got to know each other while sharing a storefront on 6th Street a few blocks down from their current location.

Ann, who moved to the Rogue Valley in 1981 from Idaho, has been very active in dog agility trials and started vending to help cover her travel costs and entry fees. She opened Bark Avenue, featuring dog and pet themed décor, gifts and jewelry, in 2007.

Shannon has lived in the Grants Pass area all her life. She is an active horsewoman and after showing horses for a number of years, she developed her own business, Gallop ‘n Glitz, which has evolved from grooming supplies and tack to a boutique western fashion.

“We were both striving for that unique boutique look, and we were fortunate enough to come across our current storefront,” Ann said. “The historic value and unique flavor that comes from the brick walls and wood floors is a dream come true for us.”
Ann & Shan’s Bark Avenue area features dog and pet themed décor, gifts and jewelry. New in the store is the expansion for unique and fun home décor and gift items including soaps, sterling jewelry and Turkish Towels.

“The Gallop ‘n Glitz area features current fashion with brands like Miss Me, Rock Revival, Silver Jeans, Grace in L.A., and a variety of tops for all ages,” Shannon said. “We carry sizes from toddler to plus. We pride ourselves on keeping up with the latest trends and fashion.”

Gallop ‘n Glitz is an Official Sponsor of the Country Crossings Music Festival and the Willamette Country Music Festival. They are also a preferred vendor at the Oregon Jamboree Country Music Festival. They have the largest selection of fun graphic tanks and tops in Southern Oregon, featuring their own, personal line. “The tops are great to wear while either at a concert, on the river, or just for fun,” Shannon said.

Bark Avenue has the valley’s largest selection of dog-themed jewelry and fun finds for the dog enthusiast, or gift ideas for the pet sitter.
