Essential Wellness Bodywork and MassageWhen Karen Suggs joined the RCC Massage Therapy Program in 2010, she knew right away that it was what she wanted to do with her life.

“I found that helping people in general is what fuels me in my everyday life,” said Karen, who moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago. “From the very beginning, I could see that massage therapy could help people deal with stress, anxiety and depression in a positive manner.”

Karen “got her feet wet” working at several places over the years. “The first two years I worked as an LMT at a Wellness Center in Brookings as well as for a local chiropractor,” she said. “Then I joined the Asante Hospice team and have been doing that part time to full time since. I’m also teaching the Massage for Cancer Patients class at RCC. I was nervous starting that position but quickly fell in love with the school, my students, and the idea that I am teaching people how to help others.”

On June 1, 2015, Karen opened the doors to Essential Wellness Bodywork & Massage at 849 NE 7th. “We are a quaint little office with a main lobby and three treatment rooms,” she said. “We have a total of five therapists trained in many different massage techniques and modalities, and we strive really hard for a kind, caring, peaceful, private and relaxing atmosphere. We think of our clients as family and are always excited to see each and every one of them.”

At Essential Wellness, clients can expect a very high level of customer service and satisfaction. “Clients can and should expect a very friendly experience and a knowledgeable approach with any bodywork performed,” Karen said. “It’s our passion to make everyone feel welcome, and to work hard to help everyone feel better, no matter the reason for the visit.”

The many modalities featured at Essential Wellness include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofacial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, Cupping, Oncology Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Couples Massage, Tandem Massage, and Raindrop Therapy, just to name a few.

“We are always continuing our knowledge base and learning new modalities and techniques on a regular basis,” Karen said. “So don’t be surprised if you see new and interesting approaches being offered from time to time. Or if you are a client and want to see something specific in our office, then let us know. Our business is all about our clients.”

Essential Wellness also has a dedicated team to handle all of your insurance needs, from health insurance that covers preventable maintenance to motor vehicle accidents.
