“Tree Work Done Right” with Southern Oregon Tree Care

Willie Gingg knows trees. He grew up on an orchard, worked in the logging business, and now for the past 15 years has owned and operated Southern Oregon Tree Care, LLC.
Starting out as a one-man crew in 2005, today Willie is one of only nine ISA Board Certified Master Arborists in Oregon, and is the only one here in the Rogue Valley. "This title is reserved for those individuals who have reached the pinnacle of their profession," explained office manager Kaila A. Roper. "And on top of this he is also a qualified tree risk assessor. Our company also has an additional Certified Arborist on staff, and our entire crew is professional in appearance and manner."

MaryJane’s Attic, Made in the USA

Marlene Nuckols, owner of MaryJane's Attic, takes great pride in the fact that every piece of merchandise in her shop is made right here is the USA. "I wanted to create a store that supports the local economy—and helps the country's economy—by selling American made merchandise," Marlene explained.
Her retail career began over 20 years ago at a baseball card and sports memorabilia store. "The owner took me under her wing and showed me how to shop on a whole other level. I was hooked," Marlene said.

Rogue Valley Pet

For business partners Chris Baldasaro and Terry Weathers, opening a pet store meant more than just providing products for pet owners to purchase. "Our goal is to be a resource team in the store as well as out in the Rogue Valley at large," Chris said. On October 1, 2011, the partners did just that when they opened the doors at Rogue Valley Pet located at 281 E. Barnett Rd.
Chris has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and had been in the premium pet food business for 13 years at Bend Pet Express, as a manager, trainer and buyer. "By offering consumers the highest quality pet products, knowledge, and customer service above all else, the Bend stores consequently grew in size and reputation over the course of the last decade," Chris explained.

Downtown Revitalization Continues with the Inn at the Commons and Larks

In August 2013 Doug and Becky Neuman took over ownership of Red Lion Medford (200 N. Riverside Avenue) and renamed it Inn at the Commons. They opened Larks Medford at this location on Decemeber 20, 2013. Below Becky explains the path that led her and her husband to take on such an ambitious project.

Your backgrounds:
In 1986, Doug and I moved with our two children to southern Oregon from Santa Barbara as we wanted to find an idyllic town to raise our family and make a difference in our community. I was happy as a full time mom for many years, and Doug was involved in expanding the real estate business. Then the day came that changed our lives completely.
