Summer Fun at The Schoolhaus Brewhaus
It’s that time of year when The Rogue Valley starts looking outdoors to fill those long summer nights for ways to entertain the entire family. When the schedule doesn’t allow for a long drive out to the lake or a full day on the river, The Schoolhaus Brewhaus in Jacksonville offers hours of great outdoor activities close to home.
“We’re a family owned and operated business,” said owner Hilary Kemmling. “Our goal was to build a community focused property that specializes in catering to families young and old.” And with over 7 acres of open spaces there has been lots of room for development over the years.
In celebration of a favorite German pastime, a 9-hole miniature golf course was built in 2015. “The terraced nature of the course guarantees a fun and challenging game every time,” Hilary added. “Immediately next to the mini-golf is an authentic bocce ball court complete with full length trellis, night lighting and even a true oyster shell base. As close to old world sporting as you can find.”
Entertainment also abounds around the “campus” as well. “Beer garden season is in full swing, and The Schoolhaus Biergarten has started its full summer lineup,” Hilary said. They also offer outdoor movies under the stars every Thursday night, screening classics such as Caddyshack and The Princess Bride. “Thursday night is always a family outing favorite (don’t worry, there’s grown up movies too! Check out the full schedule on their website or on Facebook).
“And then to round out the work week, because work still happens even when it’s hot, there is live music every Friday night. Featuring local favorites and up and coming artists, there may be nothing better than a cold beer, great live music and a beautiful shaded beer garden to unwind.
“If you’re planning on going to The Britt this summer, there’s no better place to kick off your concert evening than The Schoolhaus Bar. Grab a cold one and a bite to eat and then hop on for a ride on The Schoolhaus Britt Bus. Offering door to gate service for all concerts, the bus starts running when gates open and then will bring you back down after the show. It’s the easiest way to enjoy those great summer nights on The Hill.
“So get out there and enjoy those special rafting trips and winery tours, but be sure to check out The Schoolhaus Summer plans as well…there’s fun for everyone all summer long.”
