Give Your Car Some TLC at Ashland Automotive, Inc.

November 2017

Ashland AutomotiveEven if you’re not ready to tuck your flipflops and Hawaiian shirts into the back of your closet, it’s time to think about winter. That means giving your car a little extra tender loving care now to make sure it stays happy when our cold, wet weather sets in. And Ashland Automotive, Inc. is here to provide that TLC.

Ashland Automotive has been in business since 2009, recently relocating to the south end of town at 550 Clover Lane, near Caldera Brewery (across from El Paraiso). The shop is equipped with the most advanced equipment and computer technology around, offering what owner Zach Edwards calls “dealer level service with personalized attention. We strive to change the automotive repair and maintenance experience.”

Whether you drive a domestic, import or hybrid, Zach and his team can get it in top form and keep it there by performing regular oil changes, factory-scheduled maintenance, air conditioning service, alignments, brake work, and more. The shop has three ASE Certified Advanced Level Master Technicians and is an Authorized Bosch Service Center for European vehicles, with specialized technology for Mercedes, BMW, VW/Audi, Mini, Volvo, and Porsche. What’s more, they offer free shuttle service and hassle-free rental cars.

Zach moved to Ashland from Minnesota in 1997. He got interested in car repair when his own Volkswagen camper began ailing just as he arrived in town. A man named Alan Sommers offered to help him repair the van, and Zach found his career path. He began working with Alan, and enrolled in the Automotive Technology program at Rogue Community College in Grants Pass.

After graduating, he went on to SOU, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as a Ford Family Foundation Opportunity Scholar in June of 2008. Zach opened his first repair shop in December 2008, which later became Ashland Automotive, Inc.

His business philosophy and formula for success is simple: keep employees and customers happy, and treat them well.
“I want to attract, hire, and retain the best-of-the-best in the industry, so I strive to make our facility the best place to work. I work on being a better employer every day. We also provide our staff with continued training and education, and require our technicians to do a minimum of ten hours of continuing education each year.”

And he wants his shop to be a place where customers feel comfortable, confident and cared for. “We provide customers with detailed information and allow them to make informed decisions regarding their vehicles,” he says. “We want every customer to leave with a feeling of trust, value, confidence, and the desire to return.”
