Brian started Peak in October 2015, after moving to Ashland from Boise, Idaho, with his partner, Nenah. He had worked in a refinishing business in Boise for five years.
“We wanted a change and came upon Ashland, and knew right away it would be a perfect fit. We love exploring the outdoors and felt right at home with the people here.”
Brian enjoys restoring and rebuilding salvaged objects, even in his free time. “I like to make things from salvaged materials, and to be as resourceful as I can be,” he said. “I make furniture and restore old Volkswagens. I love to take my Vanagon out and camp as much as possible.”
He incorporates sustainable approaches in his business, another reason he felt at home with the Ashland community. “We are dedicated to sustainable practices, including responsible disposal of coatings and materials,” he says. “I knew I could fill a need for people in the Rogue Valley who are dedicated to sustainable and affordable practices.”
Those practices keep disruption in your home to a minimum while the work is being done. “I really want to emphasize my cleanliness while working in customers homes,” Brian said. “I know how taxing it can be to have somebody working in your home. I use a ventilation system to funnel out dust and odor, and masking to protect every surface in the kitchen or bathroom. I pride myself in maintaining a clean workspace from start to finish. I use a high quality, low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) coating on dingy bathtubs, shower surrounds, vanities, tile, countertops, and more, making them shine again. The new surface allows for another 10 to 15 years of use.”

“If a customer has a bathtub or shower that just needs to be ‘brightened up,’ we offer a cleaning and re-caulking service for porcelain and fiberglass bathtubs and showers,” he said. “We also can do chip repairs.”
