There are major changes at the Farmers Insurance office at 450 Siskiyou Boulevard, Suite 5. Susan MacCracken Jain will be taking over the reins of the business from long-time agent Paul Volz, who is retiring and moving back to Texas.

Restaurants may come and go in Ashland, but we can always count on Omar’s Fresh Seafood and Steaks (1380 Siskiyou Boulevard) to be there for us. The restaurant will be celebrating its 76th year in business next month, and owner Jen Sink is excited.

The restaurant spot at 31 Water Street has been an Ashland favorite for years, and when Sean Marc Nipper and Julia Rowland heard it was available in May 2021, they jumped at the opportunity. And thus Local 31 Pub was born.

Other than the fact that we had their wrong address listed in the May ad, there has been a major development at Ashland Appliance and Mattress. After twelve years in the same location, they simply outgrew their space, and they’re now located in the Ashland Shopping Center (1672 Ashland Street), right next to Ashland Artisan Emporium. Owners Joel and Jenny Jessee are happy with the move.
