There’s an interesting history behind John L. Scott Real Estate. It began over 85 years ago when a young Scottish immigrant named John L. Scott set out on a long journey to San Diego, California, with his bride and infant son.

When Kim and Ginny Billings Lewis came up with the idea of opening a tour company for an outdoorsy community like Ashland, it was already in their blood. That was twelve years ago in 2005. Now located at “the Cabin” next to the Breadboard at 800 N. Main, it’s a booming and successful year-around business, helping theatregoers and locals “get out there in the Great Outdoors” and explore.

After just a few days in Ashland you learn that our weather is as quirky, unpredictable —and delightful—as our residents.  A winter day that begins with the bone-chilling phenomenon of “freezing fog” can wind up with blue skies, sunshine and temperatures in the 60s. Summer can take you from sleeveless and shorts to “Where’s my jacket?” in no time.
