Ashland Artisan Emporium has been a popular gift shop, make that multiple gift shops, in Ashland for almost 13 years. The store, which features over 80 vendors who carefully stock and tend their booths on a regular basis, was opened in 2012 by Michelle Christian and was bought by Leah Fairbanks and Derek Lusk exactly one year ago on April 1st.

Optometrists Dr. Russell H. Horn, O.D., and Dr. Jacqueline Clair-Horn, O.D., of Clair Horn Eyecare are opening an office in Ashland this month at 933 Siskiyou Boulevard. They have been practicing in the Rogue Valley since 1996 and opened a practice in Medford in 2007. The Yreka office, which opened in 2008, is relocating to Ashland.

For Eric Hansen, owner of True South Solar, the largest solar power company in Southern Oregon, his career in solar polar was very serendipitous. He moved to Ashland from Portland in 1991 and attended SOU, earning a degree in journalism. After graduation, he got a job working for Talent-based Home Power Magazine. And that is where he learned about the vast potential for solar power.

Over at A Street Print & Parcel (258 A Street), owner Steve Barnard will be celebrating his 15th year in business this year, while his second business, Studio 10, was started in April 2020. The two businesses are definitely keeping Steve busy.
