Peerless Restaurant & Bar (264 4th Street) has appointed David Taub as its Executive Chef. Owner Crissy Barnett Donovan welcomed Taub to her talented culinary team  and said, “David brings an intellect, passion and practical approach to cooking that will allow Peerless to continue our pursuit of honest flavors and integrity of ingredients from the kitchen.”
David’s skilled culinary techniques, attention to detail and deep knowledge of traditional French cuisine were finely honed at the longtime and quintessential Chateaulin Restaurant in Ashland, where he commanded the award-winning kitchen for over thirty years as executive chef and co-owner.

“David is a talented chef who brings artful reinterpretations of classical dishes and innovative plates to the Peerless kitchen that showcases the bounty of the Pacific Northwest and the Pacific Rim,” Crissy said.

Meanwhile, Harlan Brooks will serve as Chef de Cuisine “Harlan is a dynamic, avant-garde addition to the Peerless kitchen whose efforts are tirelessly focused on raising the bar for himself and our staff to pursue culinary excellence,” Crissy said. “His exciting sense of cuisine comes with unexpected gastronomic riffs and an uncanny ability to balance flavor, texture, taste, aroma and seasonality with a commitment for using the freshest locally grown and sustainable products.”
