Paddington Station Celebrates 50 Years

November 2023

Paddington StationIt is the Paddington Family of Store’s 50th Anniversary Open House on November 17th through the 19th. Paddington will be celebrating at all three stores with lots of free gifts, grand prizes, live music from North and South Medford High School Choirs, The Siskiyou Violins, Kristen Calvin and lots of other great talent.

They will also have food tastings, wine tastings, book signings and kids’ activities. Bring a non-perishable food item for the Ashland Food Project and receive a free holiday ornament.
“This is our party to thank the community for 50 years doing business in our beautiful town,” said co-manager Pam Hammond. “We are so grateful for our local customers and want them to enjoy the celebration.”

Like their London namesake, the Paddington stores are lively places bustling with visitors and locals. Looking for a just-right birthday gift? The perfect greeting card? A chic top or scarf for your evening theater date? A kitchen gadget you just can’t live without? You’ll find all of these, and more, at the Paddington stores.

Paddington Station was started by Judy Patterson in July of 1973. The Hammonds purchased the business in 1993 and have never looked back. The business is currently being managed by Pam Hammond, her daughter Kelly Jean Hammond and Joe Collins. Don Hammond retired a few years ago. Paddington’s biggest accomplishment for their community is their preferred customer program, which has raised over $250,000 for the valley’s nonprofits.

“We are passionate about our community,” Pam said. “So head downtown to check out the event and help us celebrate this milestone.”

The family’s love of travel accounts for the eclectic feel of the Paddington stores. “We travel the country to find all the best merchandise, and we’re passionate about networking and aligning ourselves with the best and the brightest in the industry,” Kelly Jean said. “And our business values are to honor family, our community, and our customers.”
