UPDATE FROM FRIENDS OF THE ANIMALS (FOTAS)

March 2025

Fotas ClinicThe long-time local animal welfare organization, Friends of the Animals (FOTAS), is pleased to announce the opening of its new Friends of the Animals Community Spay & Neuter Clinic.

The clinic, located at 3265 Biddle Road in Medford, offers spay and neuter services for both dogs and cats, as well as a selection of recommended ancillary services at the time of surgery, such as vaccinations and microchipping. In addition to the Clinic offering spay/neuter services to the public, it has created a Volume Partner Program spanning the 5-county area.

The program will provide accessible spay/neuter services to qualifying shelters and nonprofit animal rescue groups in an effort to speed up the adoption process for homeless dogs and cats, and reduce the number of animals entering shelters. Pricing for these groups has been further reduced to help support these important animal welfare organizations.

Based on staff availability, the clinic will initially be open Friday through Sunday, with the goal to expand to five days a week as they continue to recruit until fully-staffed. An easy-to-access online scheduling portal is available on their website, fotasclinic.org, starting March 1.

Surgery costs for the general public have been set at the lowest possible rate while covering the costs to operate the Clinic. “Creating the Clinic has been a monumental endeavor for FOTAS,” said Board President Becky Cohn. “While we are committed to creating this community resource, we also need to be able to keep the lights on. We are prepared to go the distance and make this Clinic a major resource for the Rogue Valley community and neighboring counties in Oregon and northern California. Creating the Friends of the Animals Community Spay & Neuter Clinic is at the foundation of our mission.”

The Friends of the Animals Community Spay & Neuter Clinic offers the following services:

  • Owned dog and cat spay/neuters
  • Volume partner spay/neuters services for shelter and rescue organizations
  • Ancillary services (at time of surgery)
  • Vaccinations
