Big Changes at Figaro’s Pizza

One of the best ways to fill out your March Madness brackets is over a couple of slices of Figaro's Pizza (550 Redwood Highway). Owners Jason Anderson and his fiancé Amanda Hammond, who were both born and raised in Grants Pass, bought Figaro's in December 2012.
Jason graduated from Grants Pass High School and has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from SOU. Amanda graduated from North Valley and has previous managerial experience in a pizza restaurant. When the business opportunity presented itself, it seemed like a natural fit for them.
"Figaro's is very unique in that our products can be ordered baked or take-and-bake (with the exception of sandwiches)," Jason said.

‘Tis the Season at H&R Block

The first graduated income tax hit the American scene during the Civil War, and since then the tax code in this country has grown to 73,954 pages.
Not many of us have time to sit down in front of the fire with a good glass of Chadonnay and read all that, and that's where H&R Block comes in handy. The staff consists of 15 licensed tax preparers and three licensed tax consultants and enrolled agents, and they're there to make your life easier.
Franchisee Dennis Taylor had a background in the financial services field and decided to make the change into accounting and tax preparation when the economy switched in 2007/2008.

"For the last 14 years, I headed up the strength and conditioning programs at all the schools where I coached. I hold a Personal Training certificate and did personal training and speed training for the last ten years."
Every summer Remy hosts a speed and conditioning camp, which is limited to ten athletes per session. "That way I can give each person special attention," he said.

Cascade West Expands Its Services

When Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Linda Picker-Johnson and her husband visited Grants Pass in 2007, they instantly fell in love with the area.
"We were interested at that time in opening a medical practice here, and we had actually visited several other states," Linda said. "We loved southern Oregon and everything it had to offer and moved here the next year. On May 2, 2011, we opened Cascade West Primary Care Clinic with a very small crew that has grown substantially since then."
The Clinic provides primary care to adult patients with a full range of health care, not only managing chronic health problems such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, COPD, and asthma, but also wellness management, preventative health care, and acute illness.
