A Message from Wolf Creek Inn by Gesi and Andrew Shroyer

July 2020

Countryside Village RetirementHi. We are Gesi and Andrew Shroyer, the concessionaires of the Historic Wolf Creek Inn. This will be our third year here and we are excited to introduce ourselves to the awesome Sneak Preview readers.

Gesi and I are originally from Texas, moving to Portland back in 2000. When the opportunity to run the Wolf Creek Inn came across our path, we jumped at the chance. We were growing tired of city life in Portland, and Southern Oregon is happily now our home. Go GP!

If you haven’t done so already, visit the Inn immediately! This is one of the most amazing destinations in Southern Oregon. The place is something else. Built in 1883 by Henry Smith, this is the longest continuously running Inn in the Pacific Northwest.

It was an independent stagecoach stop and then a railroad stop in 1887. It’s quite the fancy building to be in the rural community of Wolf Creek and proudly one of the most popular Oregon State Parks. Our beautiful grounds are open to the public dawn to dusk, seven days a week, free of charge.

We are so proud to be trusted to run this amazing gem. The Inn is open 7 days a week and the restaurant is open Friday-Sunday 11am-8pm. Make reservations because we get busy, folks, and we want to make sure that we have enough BBQ for you!

Our rooms are decorated with unique antiques and some modern amenities like black-out curtains and memory foam beds. Imagine yourself staying in an Inn that’s 135 years old. It’s like you snuck into a museum and are having a sleep over. You can enjoy the grounds and the historic displays throughout the Inn. In front of the tavern, you’ll find interpretive panels depicting life on the Applegate Trail.

And then there are our other guests. While we initially were quite skeptical about what we had read on the internet about the paranormal activity in the Inn, we have since changed our minds. What a doozy. It comes and goes. When it’s hot, not a day goes by without an interesting story to share with each other around the dinner table. You can make Paranormal Guide reservations online at wolfcreekinn.com.

Overnight guests can choose from nine beautifully appointed rooms, each with private bathrooms. Lodging includes free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast.
