Expert Care at Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon

There’s a reason why Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon was selected as “one of the top 100 best companies in Oregon” by Oregon Business magazine in 2016. The Center, which opened its doors in October 1998, is a unique blend of the state-of-the-art, best-practice medicine you might find in a major metropolitan area and the personalized attention you expect in your own community.

The Center “helps women manage their unique health needs, from puberty and pregnancy through menopause and beyond.” They provide expert care for any type of gynecological problem, as well as preventive care and education while partnering with the patient “to ensure personalized treatment for a healthier lifestyle.”

The Center currently has four co-owners. Richard Battey, MD, has been with the practice since it opened, along with Lisa Redfern, the Center’s Executive Director. Co-owner Felicia Cohen, MD, joined the Center in 2001, while co-owners Tamara Medley, MD, joined in 2002, and Thomas Eagan, DO, joined in 2012.Shivani Patel, MD, has been practicing at the Center since 2014, while Caroline Kelly, MD, joined the staff in 2015. Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners Nancy Mason and Ashley Warner have been with the Center since 2015 and 2016, respectively. All providers are partners with AllCare Health.

All of the physicians have trained at some of the best medical schools in the nation and chose Grants Pass as the place they wanted to put down roots, raise their families, and care for patients in a private practice that puts patients first. All of the providers have different motivations for becoming doctors or nurse practitioners, and they, along with all the staff at the Center, share one common goal: “to provide progressive, proactive and compassionate care to all women.”

Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon offers a full range of gynecologic and obstetrical services, including complete prenatal and post partum care. Their “state-of-the-art technology and advanced techniques ensure that you and your baby receive optimal care that is second to none in a safe, clean and comfortable environment.”

The Center is the only OB/GYN clinic in the entire state of Oregon to be SCOPE safety certified, which is awarded by the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The award is given to practices that have achieved the highest level of patient safety in outpatient care.

In addition, the ultrasound department is the only one in Southern Oregon certified by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine in both gynecologic and obstetric specialties. All of their sonographers are also AIUM certified technicians. The Cen-ter is truly “one stop shopping for women’s health.”
