Great Deals at Affordable Home Furnishings

Affordable Home Furnishings

In these trying economic times, any retail business with the name "affordable" in it is playing it smart. And at Affordable Home Furnishings (2185 Spalding Avenue), owner Robby Salazer makes sure that his customers get the best deal possible.
"Our goal is to help our customers find the best furniture or mattress at the best possible price," Robby said. "We are a full-line furniture store carrying Ashley, Coaster and Corsicana, and we are the only authorized Spring Air mattress dealer in southern Oregon. And it would be real hard to beat our prices."
Robby has lived in the Rogue Valley his entire life and graduated from North Valley High School. Sales manager Nik Martin was also born and raised in the Rogue Valley and also attended NVHS.
"I have been in the furniture business for over eight years," Robby said. "I decided I wanted to own my own store three years ago where the shopping experience is pleasant. Customer service is our number one priority, and we offer a no-pressure sales experience. Nik has 16+ years experience in the furniture/mattress industry and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the business."
One of the main goals at Affordable Home Furnishings is giving back to the community. "We have recently helped sponsor the restoration of the Grants Pass Caveman," Robby said. "We have also donated to the Active Club's Boatnik auction."
On June 14 the store will be hosting a Father's Day Party with KLDR, and one lucky dad will win a gift basket filled with gifts from the Laughing Clam, Gillaspie Hair Design, Orange Torpedo River Trips. Galice Resort, the Cigar Cave, and Griess Family Brews.

Exploring New Horizons in Wellness

New Horizons WellnessWhen Dawn Hillman of New Horizons in Wellness moved to the Rogue Valley in 1993, she knew she had found the right place. "I grew up in a small town in Utah and appreciate the community minded-ness of Grants Pass," Dawn said. "When we first came here to visit, the people were so warm and welcoming that I felt like I was home. We moved here one month later."
Not long after that, Dawn opened the Sub Shop Restaurant. Talking with people and encouraging them, though, was her real passion. "Even as a young girl, my friends tended to come to me when they needed to talk," she said. "Seventeen years ago I became a client of a counselor who utilized a process involving NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Time Line Therapy® and Hypnosis. I realized then that this was the avenue that resonated with me. I began training in 2003, finished my courses in 2009, and opened my own practice ."
According to Dawn, her Life Coaching and Therapy Practice is not your normal talk therapy.
"The methodologies are effective, efficient and enjoyable," she said. "NLP teaches you how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve your specific desires and goals. Time Line Therapy® was founded in the late 1980s by Dr. Tad James as a format to tap into the deepest root causes of problems and behaviors and eliminate them. Hypnosis has been around since the 1800's as a means to utilize the unconscious mind's ability to heal."
Dawn can attest from her own experience that these Therapies work.
"An average client can go through a Personal Breakthrough and find resolution in as little as 24 hours or six 4-hour sessions," she said. "The processes have been proven to eliminate negative emotional attachments to one's past and reorganize strategies, patterns and triggers. They also help with conflict resolution and trauma release, as well as removing limiting beliefs, doubts, unsupportive thoughts or decisions about self, others, and/or the world around you."
Dawn and her husband Jack (of Jack's Tax and Quickbook Solutions) live in Grants Pass and have five children and six grandchildren. They love fishing and camping, and consider Grants Pass "God's Paradise."
"I have always loved people and through owning the restaurant, I am blessed to have been able to meet so many wonderful citizens of this town," Dawn said. "Thank you for being so warm, friendly, and amazing."
