OSTEOPATHIC HEALTHCARE OPENS IN TALENT
There is a new medical clinic in Talent which has survived the fires, COVID and now the passing of a dear friend and mentor, James Jealous, D.O. the founder of Biodynamic Osteopathy.
Drs. Elizabeth Caron and Gregory Yesensky are Osteopathic physicians who founded Osteopathic Healthcare, LLC in Talent. The clinic is based on the principles of Osteopathic Medicine, which focuses on using one’s hands to discover and assist the body’s innate healing forces to return to an optimal state of balance. Osteopathy is a unique American form of medicine that incorporates current medical practices, Osteopathic Manipulative techniques, diet, exercise, lifestyle, and medications.
They both use the Osteopathic approach as part of their general practice. “Biodynamic Osteopathy is a model of medical care that uses our hands to listen to the in-dwelling healing forces,” Dr. Caron said. “There is a constant movement toward normal in our bodies, nature and beyond. It is this motion toward normal that heals us. In daily life we get distracted, yet this motion which is integrally related to stillness and silence, exists in every cell in our body.”
Dr. Yesensky agreed. “Osteopathy is about listening—with our hands, an innate perception that we all have, to the self-correcting mechanism,” he said. “There is an intelligence to the workings in our body; an incredible, complicated physiologic harmony. When there is disease, the motion is changed and our body compensates to a different rhythm. But there is momentum back to the original harmonious state and Osteopathy affords us as physicians to cooperate with the process back to assist our patients in their well-being.”
Both physicians are board certified and have decided to return to general medicine in order to best serve the community. They have over 20 years of medical practice experience and continue to teach Biodynamic Osteopathy. It is because of Dr. James Jealous’ influence that they decided to follow him to the Rogue Valley. Their friendship and his mentorship were the basis for the foundation of the clinic.
Dr. Caron is from Illinois and trained at the University of New England College of Osteopathy where she graduated with honors. She is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/ Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Integrative Medicine and Pain Medicine. She went to the City University of New York for her undergraduate training, where she also graduated with honors. Her residency training was at St. Barnabas Hospital/Weil Cornell in the Bronx, New York. Prior to her medical career, she was a professional modern dancer and toured the world. Most of her dance career was with Bebe Miller and Company.
Dr. Yesensky is from Binghamton, NY and graduated with national honors from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Family medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital/Weil Cornell in the Bronx, New York, where he served as chief resident. He later completed a program at the University of Southern California in HIV and Hepatitis. In high school, he was recruited for Division 1 football at the University of Buffalo where he played Linebacker and graduated with honors in Biology and later went on to get his Masters in Immunology.
With the passing of Dr. Jealous, the Osteopathic Healthcare clinic represents part of his legacy. It is a legacy of patient care in the Biodynamic approach that Dr. Jealous so meticulously and dedicatedly taught for so many years. During these difficult times, it is nice to see the birth of a new clinic and service to our community.
