STORING THINGS THE EASY WAY WITH GO MINI’S

Go Minis Moving and StorageThe Third Law of Thermodynamics states that everything tends toward disorder. A clean desk will eventually turn into a disaster, and “stuff” will at some point take over one’s home. You can only hide it in the attic or basement for so long until it starts to take over the den, and dealing with a storage unit can sometimes be a hassle.

That’s where Go Mini’s Moving & Portable Storage comes in handy. Franchise owners Desmond and Julia Rains brought the company to Southern Oregon in 2018, and they’re happy with what they are providing the community.

“We provide portable containers for storage, moving, remodeling, and restoration,” Julia said. “We deliver the portable storage container when you need it to the location of your choice. You load the container at a pace that works best for your schedule and keep it for as long as you want. We pick up the full container when you’re finished and drive it to your new location or store it at our facility until you’re ready for it.”

Desmond and Julia have 40+ years of experience in transportation and delivery services, and to combine that with storage was a natural transition.

“We’re native Oregonians and we moved to the Rogue Valley in the summer of 2014,” Julia said. “In fact, our family is six generations of Oregonians.”

Go Mini’s Moving and Portable Storage is a franchise founded in 2002, and there are franchises in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with over 86 in the U.S.

“Our goal is to deliver the container within two days, and many times we can deliver the same day,” Julia said. “On our website is a storage calculator that helps you determine which size container would work best. You select what and how many items you will put in the container. When we deliver, the driver also carries straps and locks, which are for sale.”

Go Mini’s of Oregon answers their own calls, and there is no call center to deal with. The containers are 8’ high, 8’ wide and 3 different lengths: 12’, 16’, 20’. They can be placed in a 10’ wide area, and they’re on padded wheels to protect driveways. The flooring is sealed and pressure-treated for a moisture-resistant surface. The galvanized steel exterior is coated with factory-baked paint to prevent the containers from sweating. They are constructed of steel-welded frames and strong, secure steel siding, with interior railing for clothes hangers and tie-downs. The doors swing out.

“Our containers are built to be outdoors, eliminating the need for a warehouse,” Julia said. “They are ventilated and built to be mold- and condensation-resistant. Our longest customer, so far, was two and a half years, and she said she was pleased to find her furniture and other belongings in great condition, even commenting that her candles had not melted in the summer heat.”

Go Mini’s has delivered as far away as Bend, Portland, Klamath Falls, Coos Bay, Crescent City, and Yreka.

“We deliver where competitors do not, and our containers can be moved when full,” Julia said. “Customers can expect prompt, courteous service.”
