When Raymond Spencer opened The Herb Shop (247 SW G) in 1987, his goal was for him and his family to provide high-quality wellness products to the community. Here it is 35 years later and while Raymond is no longer here to see the fruits of his labor, his children and grandchildren (Mila [Elizabeth] Hall, Diana, Mon, Tammi, Tim and Nahum Spencer) continue with the tradition.“We believe in the value of preventative medicine such as vitamins and minerals, in addition to the healing power of herbs,” Elizabeth said. “We have all experienced first-hand the benefits of these products and continue to educate ourselves on how best to reach our customer’s wellness needs. Many of our products and herbs are sourced locally. Our main farm suppliers include Oshala Farm in the Applegate, and Sun Spirit Farm and Nature Spirit Farm, both in Williams. We also create our own tinctures in-house using these local plants. We have special, unique herbal tea blends that we mix in-house. Many of our staff members are certified herbalists and everyone comes from a specialized wellness background.”
The Herb Shop has a large selection of high quality herbs and nutrients.
“Many people seeking alternative medicine and lifestyles have enjoyed the store over these last 35 years,” Elizabeth said. “Our main goal is to provide the largest selection of high quality herbs and nutrients and formulas (like Essiac) that are available on the market today. Most of our herbs are purchased from local growers in the Rogue Valley, providing organic or wild crafted herbs whenever possible.”
The store specializes in bulk organic herbs, teas and spices.
“We have the highest quality vitamins and supplements, herbal extracts, tinctures, aromatherapy, beauty products, empty bottle supplies, cleaning supplies and homeopathy,” Elizabeth said. “Our customers can find holistic wellness supplies in addition to a knowledgeable staff willing and able to help. We appreciate our customers and their continued patronage. Many of our customers have been with us since we opened. We are grateful to be a part of this local community. We offer our customers curbside assistance, phone support, and online ordering. Many of our customers span the nation as we offer mail orders and online tools.”
The Herb Shop contains a bulk selection of herbs and spices that is one of the largest apothecaries in the Pacific Northwest.
