30 YEARS IN ACUPUNCTURE FOR JANET MORET
Acupuncturist Janet Moret, L.Ac., has been practicing in Grants Pass since 1999 and will soon be moving on January 1st to 845 NE 7th Street inside Rogue Valley Acupuncture.
“I worked in California for five years as an acupuncturist before coming to Oregon,” Janet said. “I started as a massage therapist while working my my way through acupuncture school at Yo San University, graduating in 1996 with Honors and a Master’s degree. I moved to Grants Pass in 1999 with my husband (now deceased) and dogs to enjoy this beautiful area and a more relaxed quality of life.”
Janet is licensed by the Oregon Medical Board and certified by the national organization to practice.
“With almost 30 years in this field, I have found the marvelous benefits acupuncture offers my patients,” Janet said. “I treat adults regularly and occasionally see young children and teenagers. I have watched the children grow and now come with their family, so I know several families in the Valley. Pain is the complaint I treat most often, but we are trained to treat anything Western Medicine treats. I have patient referrals from local doctors (MDs), chiropractors, nurse practitioners, massage therapists … anyone in healthcare. I love the results my patients get and I also refer out if it becomes necessary. I treat physical and emotional symptoms, as well.”
Janet’s practice is a private acupuncture clinic, and she sees patients by appointment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is a quiet, comfortable, clean space where one can find information, comfort and help.
“Many of my patients have been with me off and on as symptoms arise since my arrival in Grants Pass,” Janet said. “While I am a senior, I choose to keep working, as I believe I was born to be of service in my life. I love music and plays and attend as often as I can. We have some wonderful talent in Southern Oregon. For years I was a hiker with friends and our dogs. After being knocked over by a dog, breaking my hip ten years ago and having surgeries, walking is more my speed now. The human body is miraculous in how it heals. Our mind set has so much to do with our healing. Positive thoughts can be aids for us.”
At Janet’s practice, each patient is treated individually in one of her treatment rooms with privacy. “My patients are scheduled so that they don’t back up in the waiting room,” she said. “I accept cash, credit cards, personal checks and insurance that covers acupuncture. I also provide free consultations if a potential patient wants information about what I do or how my treatments can help (or not) them. Chinese herbal medicine is offered when appropriate.”
