Expert Legal Assistance from Allen Drescher and Tricia Hahn

June 2016
When you’re taking life’s big steps—buying property, starting or selling a business, or deciding what to do with your estate—seeking the advice of a knowledgeable attorney can help you avoid many of the bumps along the way.
Allen Drescher has been a trusted, knowledgeable source of legal assistance to individuals and businesses in the Rogue Valley for more than 40 years. To say that Allen knows our community and our region well would be an understatement. After graduating from Columbia Law School in 1972, he moved west to work as an attorney in Portland for one year before moving here to open a practice.
“I was attracted to Ashland’s small town charm,” he says. “That charm never wore off.”
Allen joined Ashland’s City Council, where he served for two years. He presided as Ashland Municipal Judge for 28 years. He is a past-president of the Ashland Family YMCA and is an ex officio member of the board of directors for the Ashland Chamber of Commerce. And along the way, he has provided legal counsel to countless area businesses, nonprofit and community organizations.
Law seems to be part of the Drescher family’s DNA. “My father was a lawyer and I lacked imagination so I became one, too,” Allen says. “Now my daughter is a attorney in Portland.”
That daughter, Sarah, and son, Joel, grew up in Ashland and attended Ashland schools. Joel now lives in the San Francisco area. Allen’s wife, Karen, is a retired nurse and “nearly-retired” Realtor who serves on the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation.
Allen has experience in a wide range of practice areas, but considers estate planning, real estate and business law, and elder law (working to meet the needs and ensure the rights of older adults) his areas of special interest. He is knowledgeable about developing guardianships, conservatorships and trusts.
Over the years, he has worked as a solo practitioner and in partnerships. He now shares his Second Street office space with Tricia Hahn, a general practice attorney with expertise in estate planning, business and elder law.
Allen’s long history in the Ashland community translates to an in-depth knowledge of its workings and a sincere desire to provide the community with fair and reasonable legal advice and representation.
“My clients can expect that I will draw on extensive experience that comes from years of practice in this region, and will provide my services at a reasonable cost,” he says.
