Getting Fit and Healthy at Thrive Wellness

July 2016

Thrive WellnessAt Thrive Wellness (1550 Nebraska Avenue), owner Virginia Kramer has been in the fitness industry for decades with a “passion for helping others live a healthier lifestyle and experience a greater level of well-being.” She moved to Grants Pass in 1977 from Southern California and began as a volunteer exercise instructor at a local church in 1985.

“Wanting to offer a safe and effective class, I became certified by the American Council on Exercise as a group exercise instructor, and later as a personal trainer and health coach,” Virginia said. “In 2008, along with Erin Houk, we founded Thrive Wellness as a quality fitness and weight loss center with a strong focus on personalized service.”

Erin recently moved to Colorado, where she is now a trauma coordinator for a hospital.

Thrive Wellness is staffed by certified personal trainers who assist members with their workout routines.

“We serve both men and women of all ages and fitness levels,” Virginia said. “Members can follow their own routines or can be trained and supervised on a new workout each month—all included in their memberships. This helps members get the best results and it keeps it interesting. Thrive Wellness does not require (or even offer) membership contracts. We are committed to earning your business each month.”

Thrive offers a guaranteed weight loss program based on the client’s individual metabolic rate, using real foods and no supplements. The center also offers personal training, fitness classes and senior programs, massage therapy, Synergie cellulite treatments, and facials.

“Every staff member at Thrive is a certified personal trainer committed to helping each member, every time they come in,” Virginia said. “Some trainers have had to work extra hard to regain their own health. For example, Glen Wardlaw lost over 100 pounds as a Thrive weight loss client before becoming a personal trainer. Regardless of their personal history, they all bring knowledge and compassion to their job.”

Thrive Wellness is definitely a big hit with its members. “Over four years of ongoing surveys, Thrive rates an average score of 9.5 on a scale of ten,” Virginia said. “Most comments list trainer friendliness and knowledge, facility cleanliness, and monthly workout programs as the top reasons they recommend Thrive Wellness. It is truly a pleasure to serve the Grants Pass community.”
