Getting Pampered at B’Inspired Studio
September 2016
Troy Brown and Heather McKinley-Brown, owners of B’Inspired Studio, have found a way to collaborate in life and in work. Since marrying last September, they’ve merged their talents in B’Inspired, an Ashland salon that offers Troy’s artistry in haircutting with Heather’s pampering touch in skin care.
“B’Inspired Studio is a small upscale boutique salon specializing in hair care, aesthetics and nails,” Heather says. “The studio is conveniently located at 250 Oak Street, #4, in the Armory Annex, within easy walking distance of downtown Ashland.”
The couple opened B’Inspired in November 2015. Troy brought with him more than 25 years in the beauty business, having apprenticed in San Francisco at Architect and Heroes, then with Martin Parsons, a stylist named by Modern Salon magazine as third among the 100 most influential stylists of all time.
For the past ten years, Heather has owned “An Inspired Affair,” a successful wedding and event planning business. Troy styled the hair of many of Heather’s wedding clients, which prompted the two to think about running a business together. While Heather worked to become a certified aesthetician last year, she helped Troy with the design of B’Inspired Studio.
The couple chose the look and name of the salon carefully to define what they hope will be the experience clients have when they visit.
“When you come to B’Inspired Studio, we’ll welcome you warmly, whether it’s your first meeting or you are a regular client,” says Heather. “We strive to make every visit a positive, beautiful, uplifting experience so that you leave feeling, well … INSPIRED!”
In addition to Troy’s expertise in hair color, cuts and styling, clients can take advantage of Heather’s specialized skin rejuvenation techniques featuring SIRCUIT® Cosmeceuticals. Luxurious facials, microdermabrasion, LED light therapy and microcurrent, as well as waxing services, lash extensions and makeup application are among the offerings.
Nail services are provided by Heather Tacy, formerly of Abbinito. The salon also provides space to Michael Leon, Interim Ethnic Hair Stylist for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
“We are pleased to be partnering with the Festival to provide hair, skin and nail services to the actors and staff,” Troy adds. “We provide a private atmosphere for OSF actors to get their hair cut and colored while working for the theatre. You never know who you might see during your visit.”
