Primary Care at Rumrey Family Practice

May 2016
Tori Rumrey, a family nurse practitioner, has opened her own office, Rumrey Family Practice, at 1585 NW Washington Boulevard. For Tori, it is a dream come true.
“I always wanted my own office where my children and family could come and be close to me,” she said. “I wanted it to be a family business so that everyone who works here doesn’t need to choose between their family and their work. I chose Primary Care because I felt my knowledge and skills would be most useful if I could share them with patients to prevent crisis and improve their overall quality of life.”
Tori is a firm believer in preventive medicine, and she has partnered with AllCare Health to achieve that end.
“AllCare Health helps independent practices like ours change our broken healthcare system by placing the emphasis on health and prevention, or primary care,” Tori said. “Today’s unaffordable costs come from treating advanced diseases with hospitalization and drastic measures after people are already suffering from advanced diseases. Rewarding, supporting, and encouraging disease prevention and health are our way out of the current health and financial crisis we are in. This is what AllCare is doing in the Rogue Valley, and I’m so honored to be a part of it.”
Tori was born in Grants Pass, and her father, Steve, moved here when he was a kid. “My dad works at Spectrum Orthotics and we share many patients and consult with each other,” she said. “My older sister is my office manager, and my younger sister is in nursing school at RCC and plans to go into advanced practice with me.”
The focus at Rumrey Family Practice is education and connecting patients to resources as the primary way to improve their lives.
“I love my staff,” Tori said. “We all bring completely different experiences and talents to the job. Lisa Ashby, my patient care manager, has a degree in social service and has been part of the community for years. She and I have several programs to address barriers that we see our patients facing, especially in the areas of mental health and achieving physical fitness.”
