Retirement Living at Mountain Meadows Community

Mountain Meadows

December 2016

Mountain MeadowsIf you are age 55 or older and are looking for the ideal place to spend the rest of your life, talk with the people at Mountain Meadows Realty.

Mountain Mead-ows Realty represents properties in the Mountain Meadows Community, located right here in Ashland and one of the nation’s most forward-thinking and celebrated com-munities for active older-adult living.

“Mountain Mead-ows is not your typical retirement community,” says Linda Doren, who manages Mountain Meadows Realty. “It was the brainchild of Madeline Hill, who spent her career in social services and helped create the project that became the Oregon Model of Long Term Care. Madeline also served as regional manager of the Oregon State Senior Services Division. It was her vision that as people age, they should do so in a setting that enables them to be as active, engaged and happy as possible. That’s what Mountain Meadows is all about.”

Mountain Meadows Realty began early in the development of the Mountain Meadows Community and they specialize in the Mountain Meadows properties. They are located next to the beautiful clubhouse and the community fitness/wellness center. Although they specialize in Mountain Meadows, they can also handle real estate transactions outside of the community as well.

Linda Doren has been with the organization for 15 years and has been a licensed Realtor since 2008. She is currently the managing principal broker at Mountain Meadows Realty and continues to work with Madeline Hill, who owns Mountain Meadows Realty. Linda also has a newly licensed Broker in the office, Wanda Green, who works as the administrative assistant and will be learning more and more about the community. In July of 2017, Madeline will be retiring, and Linda and Wanda will be the onsite professionals.

Linda and Madeline pride themselves on their extensive knowledge of the area in general, and of the Mountain Meadows community in particular. Linda was born in Ashland and has spent most of her life in the Rogue Valley.

“We know this community inside out,” Linda said. “And we strive to really listen to what our clients are looking for.”

What clients are looking for most often, she says, is a solid investment that helps them preserve their estate after they retire. Buyers in the Mountain Meadows community own their homes and there is no upfront buy-in fee.  The community is designed for a range of needs, from three-bedroom single family homes to cozy condominiums.

All of the homes are thoughtfully planned so that residents can “age in place,” says Linda, an extremely important feature that allows people to stay active and independent for as long as they wish.

The community is situated on 27+ beautifully landscaped acres just north of town, with spectacular views, walking paths and its own sparkling stream running through the grounds.  It offers a wealth of activities, from art exhibits to discussion groups to music concerts and exercise classes.
