Ride and Roam in Ashland

September 2016

Ride and Roam in AshlandIf an open road (or trail) and the wind in your face is your idea of the perfect way to spend a day, make your first stop at Ride and Roam, located at 72 N. Pioneer in Ashland.

Owner Adam Borowy has created a haven for fans of two-wheeled vehicles, where you can buy clothing for riding as well as accessories and parts for bikes, “whether they are powered by pedals or pistons.”

Adam opened the store in June 2016, but he’s worked in the bike industry for nearly two decades. His love of all things two-wheeled, especially mountain bikes and motorcycles, started early. He rode his first motorcycle at age 14 and eventually worked with two of the nation’s largest motorcycle retailers. After traveling and living around the world, Adam and his wife settled in Ashland four years ago.
It was the perfect place for them, he says, with a seemingly unlimited number of roads and trails for biking enthusiasts. When the company he was working for relocated outside Oregon, he says, “I saw it as the perfect time to start my own business. I love Ashland and all southern Oregon has to offer and I wanted to make it as easy and fun as possible for people to get out on two wheels.”

So he started Ride and Roam, offering a wide range of brands of top-quality riding gear and casual clothing that is comfortable to wear, on and off the bike. Adam takes pride in the shop’s fast, friendly service—most bike service can be done the same day. And he loves helping customers find just the right solutions for their needs.

“We start by listening to what our customers are looking for and provide them with the best options at very competitive prices,” he says. “I have a variety of sizes and products for people to see and touch. If I don’t have the correct style, size or color in stock, most items are available by the next day.”
One specialty Adam offers is building custom bikes and wheels, and providing service and parts for bikes that have been around the block more than a few times over the years.

“People still have bikes that are 20, 30, 40 years old or more,” he says. “That’s great—let’s keep them rolling and take care of the rider.”
