Rogue Jet Boat Adventures Starts 6th Season on the Upper Rogue

June 2016
Whether you have local roots that run deep or are a transplant just starting to explore the area, Rogue Jet Boat Adventures will open your eyes to what it means to ‘Discover Your Rogue.’ “We have so many recreation choices here in the Valley, but none are quite as well-rounded of an experience as the one provided by Rogue Jet Boat Adventures,” said owner Emily Grimes. “Whether you’re looking for exhilarating jet boating, are interested in local culture and history, or just want to explore an unfamiliar section of the Rogue River with friends, Rogue Jet Boat Adventures has you covered.”
Only in their 6th year, Rogue Jet Boat Adventures is already being described as Oregon’s #1 Cultural and Historical attraction with their Jet boat Discovery Tours on the Upper Rogue. “We were honored to have been chosen as the 2016 Grand Marshal of the recent Pear Blossom Parade because of our efforts in preserving local history with the attraction we are offering, and the economic growth it is encouraging. It was a big deal for us.” Emily said. “And we have many new & exciting changes in store for this summer, including a new customer check-in location in downtown Central Point, a brand new state of the art boat which doubles our capacity, and a partnership with The Point Pub & Grill to include meal options with every trip,” Emily explained.
Their Discovery Tour river route remains the same, including the same boat loading area inside Touvelle State Park. “Since the State of Oregon opted to discontinue a pilot project inside Touvelle State Park, we no longer exchange money within the park boundaries, rather all customers check in at our new kiosk at 131 N. Front St., and then take a quick shuttle to Touvelle State Park to load the boat,” Emily explained.
This convenient new check-in location is located on what is called the Artisan Corridor in Central Point, and is also home to Rogue Creamery, Ledger David Cellars and Lillie Belle Chocolates. Each visitor is encouraged to explore the Corridor in its entirety and experience its offerings of World Famous cheeses, beers, gourmet chocolates, and superb local wine tasting. “Top it off with a jet boat tour and you have just discovered a complete ‘Taste of the Upper Rogue!’”
“Our 2-hour, 30-mile tour route on the upper Rogue wraps around both Table Rocks, which is a bit like stepping back in time because the scenery is very natural and incredibly stunning,” Emily continued. “It is also surprising to many how few river users you come across on the river tours, considering it is just minutes from Medford’s city center.
“We also feature the rich Native American and early settler history which is not only fascinating but eye opening as well. Throw in some cool celebrity retreats, wildlife viewing, and 360s and you have something for everyone! Discovery Tours also feel very intimate in that they take only 10 people per tour.”
Their new boat will be available later in June and will seat up to 20.
“SO to wrap it up, if you haven’t experienced a Discovery Tour you are missing the boat. Literally!”
