ROGUE LAW FIRM WORKS FOR YOU

April 2025

Rogue Law FirmAt Rogue Law Firm (600 NW 5th), Richard Adams is celebrating 45 years as an attorney in Grants Pass. Richard was raised on the great plains of Nebraska and received a B.A. from Kearney State College in 1976. He then received his law degree from Willamette University School of Law in 1980, and he and his wife Gwen moved to Grants Pass, where he started his career at the firm still located at the corner of 5th & B. He became a partner in 1982 and remained so until founding Rogue Law Firm in 2014.

His son Tom Adams received his law degree from New York University School of Law in 2011, and he returned to Oregon and worked for one of Portland’s premier product liability firms before teaming up with his dad to open a Portland office of Rogue Law Firm in 2016.

“I’ve spent almost 45 years as a personal injury lawyer fighting for the people of Southern Oregon,” Richard said. “Battling with big automobile and other insurers, holding big companies accountable for serious injuries, and advocating for good people hurt by wrongdoing is my mission. Along with my son, we stand up for our clients and produce results our clients need.”

Rogue Law Firm helps with car wrecks, sexual abuse/assault, elder and nursing home abuse, professional negligence, medical negligence, and and malpractice, slip-and-fall, and dangerous premises. “We provide the advocacy that our clients need to get justice from insurance companies,” Richard said. “Our clients are real people, not just file numbers. Unlike the big firms with 1-800 numbers, our clients get the individual attention they deserve.”

Tom now leads the Rogue Law Firm, and Richard is of counsel. Most of their cases are in the Rogue Valley but they handle cases all over the state.

How does one determine if they have a claim for personal injury?

“Our goal is to recover a fair verdict at trial or settlement for clients injured though the fault of another person or company,” Richard said. “A person can still recover for injuries even if they were partially at fault so long as their fault is equal to or less than 50%. Examples of claims may include a driver who causes a car wreck by running a red light, speeding, texting while driving, or drunk driving. Or it may involve a doctor who fails to diagnose a condition, prescribes an excessive amount of opiates, or commits medical malpractice during surgery.”

They also help people with harms from professional negligence, product malfunctions, on-the-job injuries, assault, nursing home neglect, and restaurants that fail to protect their customers by not making their premises, building, decks, staircases or floors reasonably safe.

“We consider many aspects of a claim in order to determine what is a fair settlement of our clients’ injury claims,” Richard said. “We know our clients often experience significant loss of good health as a result of car wrecks or other injuries. That loss of good health affects them every day and often will for the rest of their lives. When a person is harmed by the wrongful conduct of another, the law seeks to balance the scales of justice by allowing the injured person money damages based on the amount of harm done.”
