You’ve all seen the smart phones with the cracked glass in front, but the phone I dropped on concrete about a year ago was an award winner. It was so bad I couldn’t even swipe it without requiring a trip to the emergency room for seven stitches in my finger (okay, I’m exaggerating).
So it was off to Mobile Madness in Medford, where they promised me it would be fixed within a day. It was a little inconvenient having to drive all the way to Medford, but now that’s a thing of the past as Mobile Madness has opened a store in Ashland at 1545 Siskiyou Boulevard (at the corner of Walker).
“We had been repairing cell phones in Ashland out of our Mobile Unit but decided we could better serve this community with a permanent location,” said owners Susan and Seth Roberts, who founded the business in 2005 to meet a growing demand.
And it’s not just cracked cases that they repair. If anything goes wrong with your phone or other electronic gadget, they can get it working again.
“We repair iPhones, iPads, iPods, tablets and android phones,” Seth said. “We also carry lots of accessories, chargers, cables, and screen protectors. And we buy and sell gently used devices and offer data migration services.”
Most repairs at Mobile Madness are completed within 24 hours, and often it is same-day if parts are in stock.
“We strive to offer our customers the best solution to their cellular problems even if it’s beyond our capabilities,” Seth said. “We stand behind our work with an excellent warranty. We also sell accessories and used phones without having to sign a contract. We are not a service provider but will send you to one if that’s the best solution for you.”
In addition to used phones, the store also sells faceplates, cases, screen protectors, and OEM charging products.
“We are not commission-based,” Seth said. “We won’t try to sell you anything you really don’t need or want. We also can test your chargers and cables to make sure they’re functioning properly. This, among many other quick and simples services, is free of charge.”
Mobile Madness wants your unwanted phones. “We buy used phones,” Seth said. “So bring in your old, lightly used phone and find out what it’s worth.”
