ROGUE FURNITURE CELEBRATES ONE YEAR
Small business owners and entrepreneurs are the heart and soul of this country’s economy. One person who exemplifies that spirit is Cal Kishawi, owner of Rogue Furniture at 304 NE Agness Avenue, Unit G, in Grants Pass.
Cal has lived in the Rogue Valley on and off for the last 25 years and settled down for good seven years ago to be closer to the family of his wife Manda, who was born and raised here.
“I brought my moving company, K&M Delivery Services, up with me from Orange County, California,” Cal said. “Owning a moving and delivery company in the area is a great place to be, but I wanted more.”
It also gave him an opportunity to network with other businesses. “K&M Delivery Services works with many furniture stores and antique stores as well as storage facilities in the Valley,” he said. “I opened Rogue Furniture so that one day I can have a happy retirement and pass on two strong businesses to my son Lucas. Lucas is currently 3-years-old and so happy. He is the reason why I have to succeed and why I am always tired. I want the best for him, and I will do whatever I can to provide for him and his mother.”
Cal opened Rogue Furniture on October 3, 2020, and recently celebrated his one-year anniversary to much fanfare.
“We’re a small store but you have to start somewhere,” he said. “We sell middle to high-end furniture and offer more services, like delivery and set up. We also offer free removal with every delivery, financing, and interior design. We do what we can to take care of our customers. We have mostly modern furniture, and we try to keep things as fresh as possible and bring in new merchandise.”
The store itself is customer-friendly.
“We’re a hard-working, family-owned business and we all have smiles on our faces … even when times are tough,” Cal said. “We have a small staff that helps customers find what they are looking for. We offer decent pricing and hopefully shorter times on items that come in sooner from the rest of the furniture stores.”
And it’s not just furniture. “We have some beautiful decor and Tomas Kinkade prints, plus some Native and Western decor,” Cal said. “We sell mattresses, adjustable bases, lamps, custom fireplaces and desks, hutches, vanities, grandfather clocks, modern and original styles. And so much more, including Hida-beds, and bunk bed sofas.”
