Rogue Music Lessons and Studios
Rogue Music Lessons first opened here in the Rogue Valley in 2008 with Zachary Sprunger teaching by himself, but in 2019 he revamped the business into a co-op of teachers in order to serve as many students as possible.
Zachary grew up in Medford as the son of local worship pastor, David Sprunger. Zachary studied piano from a young age and grew up playing in local churches and school bands. He attended South Medford High School and began teaching piano in college, eventually founding Rogue Music Lessons in hopes of providing music lessons to as many students as possible.
Zachary and the other teachers at Rogue Music Lessons are all also local performing musicians. You may have seen them performing at your local church, with a school choir, or in one of your favorite restaurants. Most of the piano teachers at Rogue Music graduated from, or are currently studying at, SOU in Ashland.
Rogue Music Lessons offers fun, professional lessons in a low-pressure environment where students of all ages and skill levels can achieve musical success. “We currently work with over 200 local students and have eight teachers providing instruction on piano, guitar, vocals, violin, ukulele, drums, and more!” Zachary said. “Every new student begins with a free, no-obligation lesson so they can meet with their instructor to see if it’s a good fit before they commit to anything.”
This free, no-obligation evaluation allows you to meet with your preferred instructor and come up with a lesson plan that fits your goals. Most memberships include weekly lessons and lessons run from 30-90 minutes depending on the plan. Basic memberships start at under $100/month on any instruments for weekly lessons.
“We strive to provide a more modern experience for our students,” Zachary continued. “Scheduling and payment are simple and easy, and our instructors are each trained in classical music theory as well as modern styles. We guarantee you won’t find a more professional, affordable, and all-around fun place for you or your children to study music!
“Music lessons aren’t just for kids, at least 30% of our clients at any given time are adults! Whether you’re in college, working on your career, or retired, we can help you fit some music into your life.”
Classes are available after work/school hours or during the day, call (541) 292-4247 for a free evaluation, it’s never too late to start! Their Main Studio is located at 229 W Main St, next to Mellelo’s in downtown Medford.
They also offer instrument rentals, piano tuning and moving services, and referrals for instrument repair or purchase—as well as live recitals at least a few times each year and are planning on resuming in the Spring.
