The Hungry Hustle Walking Food Tour
March 2020
Melynda Cordes, owner and creator of The Hungry Hustle Walking Food Tour, has the natural ability to connect with people. “I love to gather around a table with friends old and new,” Melynda said. “And I have watched the food culture change in Southern Oregon.”
So in February of 2019, Melynda started up The Hungry Hustle—a walking food tour sprinkled with a little history and art. The tours take place in the downtown historic district here in Medford.
“It’s a delicious, fun and new experience,” she continued. “The Hungry Hustle is the only walking food tour experience in Southern Oregon.”
If you take the tour, you can expect to be introduced to the wonderful food culture of downtown Medford, taste carefully prepared, delicious, locally-sourced food, all while learning history and discovering art.
“Food, new experiences, friends and family old and new…all these things bring people together…so why not combine them?! I have learned so much about community by going to these locally and family owned restaurants; they really support each other.”
Melynda has worked in the medical field for over 17 years. She’s originally from San Jose, California, and moved here in 2001 to have a better life for her and her family. “My husband was born in Hugo, and my in-laws live in Grants Pass. I love this town. I have been able to establish my family here, buy a home and find a career.
“With the changes in new restaurants, and seasonal harvests changing, there are always new food and tour options. We have many beautiful wine tours on the perimeter of Medford, but this foodie experience brings you into downtown to showcase our wonderful community.”
Vegan and Vegetarian tours are available. She also offers tours in the downtown historic district in Grants Pass.
