Gather Café Bistro and Bar

Osteopathic HealthcareIf you’ve been, you know that Gather Café Bistro and Bar is more than just another restaurant. For owners Sumesh Bakshi and Dimple Bakshi, owning a restaurant goes well beyond just serving food. “Our business is the business of giving people hope, love and healing through our food, care and nourishment,” said Dimple.

The Bakshis moved to the Rogue Valley after having been successful restaurateurs in India for over two decades. “We owned restaurants, banquet halls and party plots in India,” Dimple continued. “We moved here to be closer to my parents who have lived here for 22 years. And actually the first place they lived in in the valley was Talent!

“We are passionate about food and love feeding people. We feel that when you feed someone you are sharing your love. So it was very natural to get into the food business.”

The couple also has a few other restaurants in the Rogue Valley: Masala in Ashland, Flavor in Medford, and Oberons in Ashland is run by their daughter and son-in-law.

Located in downtown Talent, Gather offers brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, beer, wine, cocktails and bakery items. “Our customers can expect good, wholesome food served by a friendly staff in a cozy indoors or gorgeous outdoors. And we have lots of vegan and gluten-free options.”

Gather is unique by the times in which we opened the restaurant: amidst a global pandemic and after the destructive fires. “We are trying our best to be a hope for the town that is reeling under this double whammy,” Dimple said. “We are loving Talent. It is a cute town with lovely people. We get cards and gifts saying thank you for being here and opening in such trying times.

“We are also a part of Rogue Food Unites and believe that hot meals do heal.

“We’re more than just a place to gather, we’re spreading light and love to our small meal at a time. Join us!”

They offer to-go and curbside pickup, as well as delivery through door dash, grub hub and uber eats.
