Barking Beauty Parlor

They say that if you truly love your job, you can never have a bad day. Jessica Ruiz experienced this the day she started grooming school 14 years ago. And on April 1, 2017, her and her husband Jaime, became the new owners of Barking Beauty Parlor, located at 301 E. Wagner Street in downtown Talent.

Jessica was born and raised here in the Rouge Valley. “I’m the proud mother of eight beautiful children, and the daughter of an amazing mother who thought me all to always be kind and to love all things big and small.
“I went to a grooming academy 14 years ago because of my love of animals,” Jessica continued. “I still remember the day I became a groomer and got to experience the true love of my job. How can you have a bad day with wagging tails and wet noses against your cheek?”

Jaimie is a native of Uruapan, Mexico, where as a small child he worked on a farm to provide for his family. “He has the biggest heart for family,” Jessica said. “And his love of the four legged ones too made me love him all the more.” The couple has been married 21 years.

Barking Beauty also proudly gives back to the community. “We offer free grooming for the less fortunate pups that do not have a voice.”

And for Jessica and Jaime, striving to have the best quality of service is a high priority. “We have a clean salon and want it to be 100% about your babies. We want them to be comfortable and to have the best experience possible.”
