Greg Goebelt and The Deluxe Home Team with Royce Real Estate
Greg Goebelt started his real estate career in 2002 at Remax in Ashland. When the Ashland Remax branch closed in 2009, he moved to Royce Real Estate in Ashland - a boutique office of top-producing agents. In 2013, he hired on Meghan McNulty as an assistant and transaction coordinator. Meghan got her real estate license in the summer of 2017 and they became the Deluxe Home Team. They’ve been excelling as a real estate broker team ever since.
What’s your background in this type of business, and what motivated you to open the business or follow this career?
A decision I made in 1995 to take on a new job as an executive chef of a restaurant brought me to Portland, Oregon from Santa Cruz, California. Three years later, I found myself accepting an offer to be the general manager of the Apple Cellar Bakery in Ashland. My next plan was to open my own restaurant (The Wasabi Lobby) in Ashland but, during the process of looking for a good location, I met Kathy Kennedy - a rock star Realtor with Remax at the time - who became my mentor and guided me through the process of becoming a real estate agent. The appeal of the real estate agent’s career was clear to me: I would be able to design my own hours, my success would be determined by how hard/smart I work to build my own business, and I would be learning how to build wealth in real estate so I could help others do just that.
As my business grew I knew I was going to need help so, in 2013, I hired on Meghan McNulty as a part-time assistant. She learned quickly and her incentive to dive into the challenges of this career was impressive. A year later, she chose to wrap up her education at Southern Oregon University and commit to real estate full time. Meghan became a licensed real estate agent in 2017 which proved to be a great success right out of the gate! In her first year as a licensed agent, she closed six transactions and she was awarded the “3 Under 30” Honorable Mention by the Rogue Valley Association of Realtors.
I love supporting Talent, its businesses and its citizens. It’s such a great small town that never ceases to amaze me when it comes to community involvement and civic price. Some of the community accomplishments I am most proud of are being a founding member and, in the past, the vice president of the Talent Chamber of Commerce; supporting Talent’s history by being a board member of the Talent Historical Society for four years; being the co-chair for Talent’s Centennial celebration; and being a neighborhood coordinator for the Talent Food Project.

I was also among the very first agents in the Rogue Valley to become a certified Earth Advantage Broker.
