Js Bistro Wagon
Jeff. John. Josef.
They put the Js in J’s Bistro Wagon, located at 26 Talent Avenue.
Owners Jeff Lindow and John Bartow along with their head chef Josef Banuelos opened for business here in Talent in March of this year.
“I think we bring a unique take on the food truck industry,” Jeff said. “We are fixed location and do not move around. We have a great outdoor seating area in the spring and summer. We now have a really nice indoor seating area as well to get us through the fall and winter weather. And we are the only Food Truck/Wagon that has a liquor license and can sell beer and wine.”
The three Js are all Southern Oregon natives and have lived in Talent for 20 years now. The evolution of their restaurant began over 30 years ago when John and Jeff opened a grocery store/café called Stop n Go and Eat n Go Cafe in Murphy. Next they had the Cadillac Café (a sandwich shop with homemade specials everyday in downtown Medford) from 1994 to 2005. After that they moved to Florence, OR, with Josef and opened Pomodori Ristorante. And then opened their second location back here in Medford in ‘08 out on Stewart Ave. Then in 2013 they sold the one in Florence and moved to downtown Medford and changed name to Pomodori Bistro and Wine Bar. They sold the Bistro in 2016. The next year they opened J’s Bistro on A St. in Ashland down in the railroad district for 8 months. That was not a good fit, so they sold that business in 2018.
“We knew we had to still do something else,” Jeff said. “While we cater a lot with our Dancing Cats Catering Co. it was not quite enough. So we decided why not a food truck close to home in Talent and feature a menu that represents all our past 30 years experience.”
And that, my friends, is what they did.
The selection at J’s Bistro wagon is extensive, including homemade sauces, soups, chili, pastas, sandwiches, bento, burritos, tacos and homemade burgers of all types. They also have large salads and daily specials.
“Our customers can expect great homemade dishes,” Jeff continued. “We have always prided ourselves on quality, quantity and cost. You get your money’s worth at our wagon.”
They also can cater any event you might have—whether it be a small dinner at your home or a large party at another venue, including wedding receptions. “We can do any type of cuisine or set up you would like—informal BBQ or sit down plated and served—we are here to make your special event even better and let us do all the work.”
They recently started evening dinners at the Wagon. These are Prix Fixe with glass of wine and wine pairing dinners. The next one on the calendar is set for December 12 at 6pm and will feature wine from Paschal Winery, a shrimp and avocado wonton cup, sweet potato kale soup, creamy garlic parmesan red wine spaghetti, braised tri tip and sweet potato mash. Dessert will be baked pears in wine.

J’s Bistro Wagon is open for lunch Mon-Fri from 11am-3pm, and dinner Wed-Fri from 5pm (except the first Thur of each month) until they’re sold out.
