Pump House, Burgers and Brews

March 2018

Pump HouseYou can thank a Facebook posting for the existence of Pump House, Burgers & Brews located at 102 Talent Avenue and owned by Garth Evey and Jeven Showers. “The post inquired about where to get a hamburger for dinner in Talent, and then turned into requests about opening a restaurant,” Jeven said. “Within a week a space opened up and a partnership was formed.”

Jeven has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. He’s the former owner of Tabu in Ashland, and now owns Taqueria Picaro. Garth is the former owner of a ribs and pasta restaurant in Northern California called Pete’s Room. He’s been a contractor and designer in Southern Oregon for the past 15 years, and brought that experience into the design and décor at the Pumphouse. “Garth’s grandfather worked 40 plus years for Saucony Mobil gas and vacuum,” Jeven explained, “And our logo was modeled from his 20 year pin. Pump House is built in an historic gas station, and we have revived the look and feel with car-related décor and a bay door.”

Their family-friendly restaurant in the heart of Talent also features a large patio with two fire pits and an amazing view of the valley. “Our menu has a great selection of soups, salads and appetizers, but we are most famous for our burgers and our hand-dipped corn dogs. We offer 19 rotating taps with beer, wine and kombucha or you can order from our signature cocktail menu.”

Pump House offers counter service, take-out, happy hour and cocktail service on the weekends. They also fill growlers (look for their Growler Station coming soon).

“We are a fun social hub for Talent, and destination for folks from all over the Valley,” Jeven said. “We’re also proud to have bicycle parking, as well as trying to source as much as we can locally. We serve all natural Cherry Street beef, Uber Herbal Mustardishness, Griffin Creek Coffee, and much more. We also strive to be as sustainable as possible. We’ve eliminated most plastic and single use products, such as wine and beer bottles.”
