Quality Paperback Books

Village BooksA love of reading landed Joe and Coralee Eaton as the new owners of Quality Paperback Books located at 115 N. Pacific Highway here in Talent. "We enjoy the Talent community," Joe said. "And we like meeting new friends and participating in the community activities. So far, our experience has been very rewarding. Everyone is so positive and supportive. It's been a lot of fun...and a lot of hard work!"
The work began after Joe came out of retirement—for the second time. He worked for Bear Creek Corporations for over 30 years. After retiring he took a job as a medial transportation driver for the Rogue Valley Manor. In December 2012, after retiring from the driving position, he and his wife Coralee purchased the store from Gary Brewer (the bookstore has been in business for over 20 years).
Coralee works full-time at CSL Plasma in Medford, and joins Joe at the store in the evenings and on weekends.
"Coralee and I both love to read," Joe said. "And we love books. Owning this store is a special opportunity for us to fulfill a dream."
They specialize in used paperback books, but also offer hardcover books, CDs, DVDs, videos, audio books and miscellaneous treasures like sheet music and comic books.
"Our store is a welcoming, cheerful environment," Joe said. "We encourage browsing, and we're always up for lively conversation. Our comfortable seating encourages browsers to relax, read and visit."
At Quality Paperback Books, customer service is the number one priority. "If a customer has a particular author or authors that they are interested in, we are happy to print out a listing of books by that author," Joe explained. "Our customers will always receive friendly service with attention to detail. We can also order books for our customers. We have a trade policy in place, and we do purchase some books, and also have a wide variety of books that are suitable for the home school environment."
They accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover, and also offer gift certificates. With a purchase of $25 or more, customers receive a heavy duty, reusable carry bag. When available, they will be offering collectible sets of books. They also post upcoming community events on their bulletin board.
Their posted hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:30am to 5:30pm and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm, "but if we are at the store, we are open! If the OPEN sign is out, we welcome everyone. Stop by and say hello; we'd love to meet you!"
