Beautify Your Skin at Zagorska Oasis
August 2016
If you are looking for a place to beautify your skin and heal from life’s stresses, you’ll find it at Zagorska Oasis Eco-Luxe Spa & Apothecary, 111 East Main.
Owner Michele Zagorska opened the spa in July 2016. She had previously sold her all-natural Zagorska Bodycare Oasis products at a small shop on Third Street.
“I had this dream in the back of my mind of creating a real, physical oasis for my customers,” she says. “Living on a farm in the Colestin Valley, I’m surrounded by nature, and I wanted to help bring that connection to others through the ingredients in my products.”
Michele and her husband, Jacek, moved to Ashland 18 years ago and started a small farm after having worked in corporate engineering jobs.
“We realized we were meant for a different kind of lifestyle,” Michele said. While pregnant, Michele became concerned about the ingredients in skin and body care products, and began creating her own all-natural preparations for herself, family and friends. At the new Zagorska Oasis, she continues to hand-make all the skin care products with natural, organic, wildcrafted and Eco-Cert certified ingredients.
The Zagorska Oasis is “a place of refuge and reconnection,” says Michele, “in a healing environment
that is both elegant and earthy.”
It offers an express menu with treatments 30 minutes or less as well as a more indulgent Luxe menu. Estheticians and massage therapists custom-blend Michele’s products depending on a client’s needs during each visit.
An Apothecary Blending Bar allows customers to blend their own skin and body care products from seven organic bases ranging in price from $35 to $50. Price includes adding up to six different actives, botanicals, essential oils, and luxury oils from a choice of thirty.
Another unique feature is the spa’s Himalayan Salt Cave Sanctuary, unique to Ashland, created with 3,000 pounds of Himalayan salt. Halo, or salt therapy, has been used in Poland since the 12th century to purify and combat free radicals in the environment.
“Pure Himalayan salt contains 84 minerals and trace elements found in the human body that activate your natural healing mechanisms, allowing your body to restore its balance,” Michele says.
The spa incorporates Himalayan salt into most treatments, whether it’s through warmed salt spheres, detox blocks for feet, or hot salt stone massage. In the sanctuary, customers can add sound therapy or guided meditation with headphones for a truly healing experience.
